When replacing the EVAP canister vent control valve for any reason:



^ Use the one listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.



^ For vent control valve replacement procedure, refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) if needed.



^ When installing the new valve, do not add any lube to its o-ring.



^ Make sure to use the "new style" valve listed in PARTS INFORMATION.

INTRODUCTION



Infiniti is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to reprogram the navigation unit on certain 2010 model year G37 vehicles to correct the



operation of the radio seek function.



IDENTIFICATION NUMBER



Nissan has assigned identification number P0308 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any



nature dealing with this campaign.



DEALER RESPONSIBILITY



Dealers are to correct each vehicle falling within the range of this campaign that enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased



from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer's inventory.

Service Procedure



This SERVICE PROCEDURE contains three steps:



A. Disable Bluetooth(R) function.



B. Loading The Program.



C. Enable Bluetooth(R) function.



CAUTION:



If the Bluetooth(R) function is not disabled before program reload the system may become permanently damaged.



A. Disable Bluetooth(R) Function



1. Set the parking brake.



2. Start the engine - keep the transmission in Park or Neutral.



3. Make sure that there is no disc in the CD-slot.



4. Press the "Setting" button on the switch panel.



5. Touch "Bluetooth".



6. Touch "Bluetooth ON".



NOTE:



If Bluetooth(R) function is turned off (grayed out) go to step 8.

7. The "ON" indicator turns off (grayed out).



8. Turn off the engine. Wait 10 seconds.



9. Proceed to B. Loading The Program.

1. Start the engine - keep the transmission in Park or Neutral. The start-up screen is displayed.



NOTE:



If the start-up screen is not displayed: Turn off the engine. Wait 10 seconds. Start the engine.



2. Wait for more than 1 minute.



3. Press the INFO button.



4. Select Navigation Version on the display screen.



5. Press the ENTER button.

6. Make sure Program Version is X1U32009.



NOTE:



If Program Version is X1U32013, reprogramming is not needed:



^ Proceed to C. Enable Bluetooth?Function.



^ Submit a claim to close the campaign.



7. Eject any discs that may be in the CD player.



8. Insert the reprogramming disc into the CD player.



9. Wait for the reprogramming to load.



^ Reprogramming will load automatically.



^ A progress bar will display as reprogram loads.



NOTE:



DO NOT change the ignition position while program is loading.

10. When complete, the screen in Figure 4 will display and the reprogramming disc will eject automatically.



NOTE:



When the disc ejects, remove it immediately. If left in the slot it will automatically load and start the process again.



11. Remove the Disc from the CD slot. The system will reboot automatically.



12. Make sure the new program has loaded:



a Press the INFO button.



b. Select Navigation Version on the display screen.



c. Press the ENTER button.



d. Make sure Program Version is X1U32013.

f. Proceed to C. Enable Bluetooth(R) Function.

NOTE:



If Bluetooth(R) function did not require to be disabled in Step A, then the bulletin is complete at this point.

5. Turn off the engine. The process is complete.

1. Remove the front or rear (depending on model) wheel bearing Cotter Pin and Lock Nut from the axle.



NOTE:



Do not remove the axle from the hub or transmission for this bulletin.



2. Push axle back to allow application of Molykote M77 Grease.



3. Apply a moderate coat of Molykote (P/N 44003-7S000) to the entire (front or rear) wheel hub bearing surface (see Figure 2).



4. Re-install the (front or rear) wheel bearing Lock Nut and Cotter Pin per the Service Manual instructions.



^ Refer to model specific ESM for Lock Nut replacement requirements.



^ Refer to the model specific ESM for wheel bearing Lock Nut torque specifications.



5. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the incident is resolved.

SERVICE INFORMATION



Improper adjustment or operation of the ASCD brake switch can cause the Automatic Speed Control Device (ASCD) to "not set" and/or DTC P0605



(ECM) to store.



If a malfunction in the ASCD system is detected the CRUISE indicator may stay ON and the "SET" indicator may flash.



Before replacing the Engine Control Module (ECM) for a DTC P0605:



First check the ASCD brake switch for proper operation and adjustment.



^ Refer to the appropriate Service Manual for ASCD brake switch operation and adjustment information.



^ Make sure the switch operates correctly.



^ Make sure the clearance gap of the switch is adjusted correctly.



If the ASCD brake switch is not the cause of the issue refer to the appropriate Service Manual for additional diagnostic and repair information.

This TSB is for troubleshooting of CAN Modules with "Diag-On-CAN" Diagnostics. The flow charts below are meant to troubleshoot current CAN



DTCs. The flow charts are intended to diagnose one module at a time; repeat the process as needed for additional control units.



Definition of CAN Codes:



U1000 - missing ECM CAN communications not related to OBD2 system



U1000 - missing CAN communications for all other ECUs



U1001 - missing ECM CAN communications related to OBD2 system

U1002 - similar to U1000, but has a tighter timing spec to set the DTC



U1010 - Module has internal Issues



CLAIMS INFORMATION



Helpful Tips:



^ Always diagnose CAN communication codes first, U1000, U1001, U1002, U1010, then network codes, UXXXX, and then all other codes.



^ A quick method to test CAN communications is to operate the vehicles functions such as Hazards, Brakes, Tachometer, PRNDL, Speedometer,



4WD, Difflock, Seat Memory, Power Back Door or High Beams.



^ In a low voltage situation (less than 10V), modules will stop communicating at different voltages.



^ Integrated Power Distribution Module (IPDM) is a smart relay and fuse box. It powers other modules in the same way fuses and relays do.



^ CAN voltages can be checked via CONSULT.



^ Missing "Ignition 2" fuse or other high level fuses can cause CAN Diag Support Monitor to not work.



^ High level fuses such as "Ignition 1", "Ignition 2" and "Elec B" power many modules.



^ Pins/terminals can be bent and still pass visual inspection.



^ When troubleshooting a harness that has multiple inline connections, section off the harness and isolate it one portion at a time. Add a terminating



resistor to the end of the harness in substitution of the terminating modules.



^ If a module has multiple connectors, disconnect one at a time.



NOTE:



120 ohm resistors may be needed to perform diagnostics.

IMPORTANT:

option to allow this feature to be enabled or disabled.



If the lock/unlock request buttons do not operate but the intention is for this feature to be active:



^ Confirm that "Intelligent Key Lock / Unlock" (Audio/Visual/Navigation system) or "I-Key Door Lock" (Combination Meter) has been



enabled and is "ON" in the Comfort & Conv. Settings or Combination Meter vehicle settings as applicable.



^ See figures 1, 2, 3 and 4 for examples.

In some instances this feature may be unintentionally disabled. Please verify the status of this feature before any further diagnostic is



performed.

^ If it is not ON and it is the intent to enable this feature change this setting from "OFF" to "ON" and then BACK out of Settings.

SERVICE INFORMATION



DTC B2190 (NATS ANTENNA AMP) can be stored for the following reasons:



1. Something other than an Intelligent Key is inserted into the Key-Slot.



2. An Intelligent Key issue.



3. A wiring issue between the Key-Slot and the BCM.



4. A Key-Slot issue.



If DTC B2190 is stored due to 1 or 2 above, it will not erase, or go to "PAST" until a known good registered Intelligent Key is inserted into the



Key-Slot.

system diagram for reference.



^ DTCs: P0442 P0455 and P0456



^ This Service Procedure can be used in addition to the procedure(s) outlined in the applicable Service Manual and other bulletins applicable



to specific EVAP leak DTCs when necessary.



^ If a Smoke (Leak Detection) Machine is available and preferred the REPAIR FLOW CHART can still be used. This tool would be used in



place of watching for pressure drop and spraying with soapy water. Refer to the Machine's Operator's Manual for proper use.



CAUTION:



Use Essential Tool J-42909 (sent out to dealers September 1997) or equivalent to pressurize the EVAP system. Do not pressurize over



the amount specified in the applicable Service Manual. Do NOT use shop air pressure.

If a customers reports their "vehicle pulls" or the "steering wheel" is off-center use the Diagnostic Flow Chart above and the other information in this
bulletin to diagnose and correct the issue.
Road Test
Determine if the vehicle has a pull or steering wheel off-center issue that requires repair.
IMPORTANT:
^ If the vehicle has any tire issues such as:
> Tires that are different sizes (except when specified from the factory)
> Significant difference in the amount of wear between any of the tires
> Any other tire irregularity or damage to any tire
Replace the tire(s) or use known good tires from another vehicle for all road tests and diagnostics in this bulletin.
^ Make sure tire pressure is set to the correct specification.
1. Install the following measuring tools on the vehicle:
^ Steering Wheel Offset Gauge
^ Road Crown Gauge

NOTE:
Refer above for a description of these tools and an explanation of their use.

  1. Obtain a watch with a second hand (preferably a stopwatch) to use during the road test.

  2. Take the vehicle for a road test and confirm the customers concern.


^ Select a flat road where the vehicle can be driven in a straight line at a preferred speed of 60 mph.
^ During the road test make sure the vehicle is pointing straight. Don't worry about steering wheel position during the road test.
NOTE:
^ If you adjusted the tire pressure or changed the tires before the road test the issue may have been resolved.
^ If there are cross winds strong enough to affect the vehicle straight line movement then diagnosis cannot be performed.
  1. Determine the vehicles issue - refer to the definitions of Pull and Steering Wheel Off-center below.

  2. When the road test is completed remove the Road Crown Gauge; leave the Steering Wheel Off-Set Gauge in place until the Service Procedure is


complete.

Other Service Information
Customers may report that their vehicle's steering wheel is "off-center" because the steering wheel spokes are tilted to the left or right when the
vehicle continues straight ahead on a straight flat road (see example in Figure 1).
If a vehicle's steering wheel spokes are slightly off-center while driving straight it may be the normal result of road crown. Most roads in the United
States are built with a "crown" to help rain water drain from the road surface. The slope of the road crown varies from place to place.
Vehicles have a natural tendency to drift to the low side of the crown. The greater the slope of the crown the faster the vehicle will drift in that
direction.
Tires and vehicles are designed to counteract the effect of typical road crown but may not fully counteract the effect of a highly crowned road.
Some freeways slope to both the left and right from the center. When driving on a freeway that slopes in both directions a vehicle may exhibit a
small amount of drift to the left when driving in the left lane and a small amount of drift to the right when driving in the right lane.
This bulletin does not address road crown issues because they are not vehicle related, although the customer may incorrectly perceive them to be.
Description/Definition of Steering Wheel "Off-center" Condition
The steering wheel spokes are tilted to the left or right 2 mm or more (see example in Figure 2) when driving straight ahead on a straight flat road.
^ When driving straight on a highly crowned road the steering wheel may be turned (off-center) to counteract the affect of the road crown. When
road testing for an off-center condition the vehicle should be driven on a straight flat road.
^ Although the vehicle does not pull in either direction the customer may perceive that the vehicle pulls because it will respond if he or she tries to
bring the steering wheel back to center. This condition can occur if the tie rod length is uneven (not adjusted correctly) from side to side.
Description/Definition of a Vehicle "Pull" Condition
The vehicle consistently drifts to one side while driving at a constant speed on a straight flat road.

^ A vehicle is said to "pull" if it completes a lane change in less than 7 seconds (with no steering correction from the driver) when driving at 60
MPH on a road with less than 2 degrees of road crown slope. All four wheels must pass into the other lane during this time (7 seconds).
