Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK STARTING SYSTEM
Turn ignition switch to START position.
Does the engine turn over? Does the starter motor operate?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Check starting system. ( See: Starting and Charging/Starting System/Description and Operation.)
2.CHECK GROUND CONNECTION
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Check ground connections M16, M70. See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component
Tests and General Diagnostics/Power Supply and Ground Circuit.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Repair or replace ground connections.
3.CHECK CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT-I
1. Disconnect CMP sensor harness connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
