Diagnosis Procedure



1.CHECK OIL PRESSURE WARNING LAMP



1. Start engine.



2. Check oil pressure warning lamp and confirm it is not illuminated.



Is oil pressure warning lamp illuminated?



YES - Go to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil/Service and Repair/Procedures.



NO - GO TO 2.



2.CHECK INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE



See: P Code Charts/P0011.



Is the inspection result normal?



YES - GO TO 3.



NO - Replace malfunctioning intake valve timing control solenoid valve.



3.CHECK CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR



See: P Code Charts/P0335.



Is the inspection result normal?



YES - GO TO 4.



NO - Replace crankshaft position sensor.



4.CHECK CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR



See: P Code Charts/P0340.



Is the inspection result normal?



YES - GO TO 5.



NO - Replace malfunctioning camshaft position sensor.



5.CHECK CAMSHAFT (INTAKE)



Check the following.



- Accumulation of debris on the signal plate of camshaft rear end



- Chipping signal plate of camshaft rear end



Is the inspection result normal?



YES - GO TO 6.



NO - Remove debris and clean the signal plate of camshaft rear end or replace camshaft.



6.CHECK TIMING CHAIN INSTALLATION



Check service records for any recent repairs that may cause timing chain misalignment.



Are there any service records that may cause timing chain misalignment?



YES - Check timing chain installation. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Timing Components/Timing Chain/Service and



Repair/Removal and Installation.



NO - GO TO 7.



7.CHECK LUBRICATION CIRCUIT



Perform "Inspection of Camshaft Sprocket (INT) Oil Groove". See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Camshaft, Lifters and Push



Rods/Camshaft/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation.



Is the inspection result normal?



YES - GO TO 8.



NO - Clean lubrication line.



8.CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT



See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Trouble
