APPLIED VEHICLE:



2003 - 2005 G35 (V35) Sedan



IF YOU CONFIRM



A rattle, buzz, or ticking noise coming from the front door area(s) when:



^ listening to the audio system with a volume setting of "15" or below and/or



^ when driving over rough surfaces,



ACTIONS



Remove the door panels and:



For all Applied Vehicles:



^ Apply felt cloth tape to the door panel support ribs (steps 1, 2 and 3).



For vehicles built before JNKCV51E(*)3M 012821 and April 10, 2002;



^ Install Felt Pad, "EPT" Seals, and "PE Foam" pads to the backside (inside) of the door panels (steps 4, 5 and 6).



^ Install Urethane Foam pads around each door release cable (step 7).

Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding table.



SERVICE PROCEDURE



Perform the following steps for both front door panels (left and right side).



1. Remove the front door panel (finisher).



^ Refer to Section EI in the appropriate Electrometric Service Manual (ESM) for door panel removal information.



2. Lay the door panel face down on a clean flat work surface.



NOTE:



Cover the work surface with a clean cloth fender cover (or other suitable protector) to prevent staining or damage to the door panel face.

3. Apply a piece of felt cloth tape to each support rib under the top edge of the door panel (see Figures 1 and 2).



^ Use felt cloth tape P/N 68370-4B000 listed in the Parts Information.



^ Close-up of support ribs with felt cloth tape applied.



The remainder of the steps in this Service Procedure are only for vehicles built before JNKCV51E(*)3M 012821 and April 10, 2002:

4. Apply a felt pad PN 80906-AL500 to the area (on the backside of the door panel) as shown in Figure 3.



5. Apply EPT Seals from the Felt Pad Kit to the areas (on the backside of the door panel) shown in Figure 3.



6. Apply PE Foam pads from the Felt Pad Kit to the areas (on the backside of the door panel) shown in Figure 3.



7. Apply Urethane Foam pads PN 80845-AL500 to each door release cable as shown in Figure 4.



8. Re-install the door panel in reverse order of removal.



9. Test the vehicle by playing the radio and test driving to make sure the noise(s) are gone.
